Happy Thanksgiving!

By Jillian Wheeler | November 22, 2007

Here in the U.S. it’s Thanksgiving, a national holiday dedicated to giving thanks.

I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been watching too much news, and worrying too much about the war, and the environment, and the Sudan. Don’t get me wrong. I believe in being a concerned citizen, and I vote and contribute to causes I support. I’m a big believer in prayer, and I pray.

But today I’m reminding myself that my glass is half full. Yes, I know there is lots of pain and struggle in the world. But in my little corner, all is well, and I believe my job is to notice that, and appreciate it. Aside from the fact that my parents taught me to say “thank you,” gratitude is a powerful spiritual principle. We get more of what we pay attention to, and the more grateful we are, the better life is. So, if you catch me whining, remind me of that, will you?

My personal harvest of blessings includes my family: my wonderful husband and children and grandchildren and brothers and sisters, our amazing community of friends, and our beautiful home where we all gather. I am so incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by so much love.

I’m also very grateful for my energy and health, and for the well-being of my family. This year I’m particularly thankful for the recovery from serious illness of three dear friends. I’m grateful for an amazing summer in Mexico.

I am grateful for my work, which is fun and exciting and fulfilling, and gives me so much freedom. I’m grateful that my new book is being published (if you haven’t heard me mention this, you can get a free Sampler of the book at www.YourInternetCashMachine.com).

Finally, I am grateful to you. My business is not just me and the folks who work with me (for whom I am SO grateful); it is you. You take an interest in what I do, and you read my ramblings. You buy my work. You write and tell me your own hopes and dreams and ideas.

Thank you for being here. I really, really, appreciate you.

Have a beautiful Thanksgiving.
