Grants from Target

By Jillian Wheeler | May 5, 2008

The exterior of a typical Target Store.

Target stores, headquartered in Minneapolis, are part of a group of companies which has pledged to give 5% of their profits in the form of community grants.  In Target’s case, that adds up to $3 million every single week!

Target operates two different grant programs.  In the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, the Target Foundation gives grants to support arts and culture, as well as various kinds of social services.  Applications for the 2008 grants will be accepted through October 1st of this year.

Store grants operate differently.  Grants usually range between $1,000 and $3,000 each, and they are given within the community where the store is located.  Grants are available to support a wide variety of project types.  If you are interested in a store grant, you can apply between now and May 31, 2008.

Of course, Target is not unique.  Corporations all over the United States, and in every country of the world, offer grants designed to improve the communities in which they do business.

In our Grants Training Classes, we give you all the information you need to find and secure corporate grants, foundation grants, and government grants.  These 9-week classes are email based, and they are structured to be very flexible for working adults.  I teach these classes personally, and I provide one-on-one support to students.  Each class is limited to 15 participants, to be sure everyone receives the attention they need.  By the end of the 9-week period, students have conceptualized their project and completed their grant proposals.

Right now our Grants Training Classes are on being offered at an exceptionally low price (as part of our Economic Stimulus Package incentive).  To learn more, visit:
