Grants for Individual Artists, Writers, and Performers

By Jillian Wheeler | August 1, 2007

All over the country, there is support for individuals involved in the arts. In Columbus, Ohio, for example, the Greater Columbus Arts Council recognizes outstanding artists by awarding $5,000 fellowship in varied artistic disciplines. There are awards in visual arts each year, and in creative writing every two years. Awards are also given for playwriting, music composition, choreography and movement arts, and for film and video. The goal is to support local artists as they create new work and advance their careers.

If you’re specifically interested in grants for writers, check out our book, Cash for Writers, at:

And if you’d like to learn much more about finding grants, writing successful proposals, and dealing with funders, our Grants Training Classes may be just the thing. In fact, we have an opening in a class we’re doing for clients right now. You can participate by enrolling at:

and of course, if you have a question, contact me at jillian@grantmerich.com.
