Saturday, November 10th, 2007We still have a few openings in our final Grants Training Classes of 2007.
Each class is limited to 15 participants. I teach each class myself, and I offer the classes around my consulting schedule. As a result, I can’t say when the next classes will be held, but definitely next year.

Southern California Fires
Sunday, November 4th, 2007I’ve just returned from a speaking trip, first to Las Vegas for a couple of days, then for ten days in Los Angeles and San Diego. I enjoy going to Southern California for a number of reasons. I have friends and clients there, of course, and it’s always fun to catch up with [...]
Navigational Tools
Sunday, September 23rd, 2007Most weekends I spend at least part of my time outdoors, hiking and exploring nature. This weekend I spent both days inside. Happily, the room was located on the 17th floor of the Hyatt Regency, and the glass wall provided a panoramic view of LadyBird Lake and and the ever-changing skyline of downtown [...]

Friday, September 21st, 2007Today I was researching some real estate grant opportunities, when I came across a couple of job openings with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. That took me off on a whole other tangent (my brain is easily diverted), and just for fun I decided to go to Monster and see how many openings [...]

Monday, September 3rd, 2007Today is Labor Day, the holiday in which we honor all the workers of our country. So here’s to you, whether you’re a truck driver or a surgeon, manage a convenience store or pick up trash, drive the kids to school or press pants, teach school, wait tables, or wave the wand at the [...]
Buy Real Estate in Chicago with Government Money
Thursday, July 26th, 2007The city of Chicago offers real estate investors some of the most comprehensive housing programs in the country. Chicago’s downtown is surrounded by many beautiful old neighborhoods affected in the sixties by “white flight,” and there is a concerted effort underway to restore many of the old buildings and create new housing opportunities both [...]
New Grant Funding Available
Friday, July 20th, 2007A federal government agency that is not well known is the Corporation for National and Community Service. Through its Learn and Serve America program, it makes funding available for non-profit organizations that want to work in communities and schools.
Grants between $50,000 and $200,000 are currently available to statewide and national non-profits to support programs [...]
Upcoming Free Conferences
Thursday, July 19th, 2007The White House Office of Faith-based and Community Initiatives is hosting a series of Regional Conferences and Targeted Workshops in cities across the country. The conferences are free but pre-registration is required. They should be of special benefit to representatives from faith-based and community organizations that are interested in, but have not yet [...]
